Data We Collect

When you install and use CiteShop, we collect the following data through Shopify APIs:

• Store Information: Your shop domain name and basic store metadata.
• Product Data: Product titles, descriptions, HTML content, SEO fields (title, meta description), vendor, and product type. This data is used exclusively for GEO analysis and optimization.
• Page Content: Store page content for audit purposes.
• Usage Data: Feature usage patterns (audit runs, optimization requests) to improve our service.
• Billing Data: Subscription status and payment history managed through Shopify Billing API.

How We Use Your Data

• To perform GEO audits on your product catalog.
• To generate AI-optimized content using third-party AI services (DeepSeek, Google Gemini).
• To apply optimization updates back to your Shopify store upon your explicit request.
• To manage billing and subscription status through Shopify's secure billing system.
• To provide customer support.

Third-Party AI Services

We share your product content only with the following AI service providers solely for content generation purposes:

• DeepSeek (DeepSeek AI): For generating optimized product content.
  Data sent: product title, description (text stripped of HTML), vendor, product type.
  Their privacy policy: deepseek.com/privacy
• Google Gemini (Google LLC): For generating enhanced AI-optimized content (Business/Enterprise plans).
  Data sent: same as above.
  Their privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy

We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your data to any other parties.

AI providers may retain processed data according to their own retention policies for model improvement purposes. We encourage you to review their policies directly.

Data Storage & Security

• All data is stored in encrypted databases with access restricted to authorized personnel.
• All communications use HTTPS/TLS 1.3 encryption.
• Shopify OAuth tokens are stored securely following Shopify's security best practices.
• We conduct regular security reviews of our infrastructure.

Your Rights

• Access: You can request a copy of all data we hold about your shop by emailing us.
• Delete: Uninstalling CiteShop triggers immediate automatic deletion of all your data from our systems within 24 hours.
• Export: You can view all optimization logs within the App dashboard.
• Opt-out: You may stop using AI optimization features at any time while keeping audit functionality.
